أصلي وفَرعي فارقاني معاً

واجتُثَّ من حبَليهما حَبلي

My roots and branches both abandoned me,

And I was ripped up from their grasp.

فما بقاءُ الغُصنِ في ساقهِ

بعدَ ذهاب الفَرعِ والأصلِ

For how can a branch endure on its bough,

When the branch and root are gone?
