The bitter cold has numbed each of my limbs
Even my tongue, leaving me unable to speak
My fingers trembled from what I endured
I cannot grasp a pen within their hold
I complain to you, o my refuge and hope
Of the cold's unjust cruelty that spilled my blood
I said to myself, find warmth after being disturbed
In the protection of Ibn Mu'izz ad-Din, so cling
Abu al-Mu'izz, so gracious and noble
His virtues have become like fire on wood
Extend your protection, submit to him and reside
So your cheek becomes a place for kisses
