Your tenderness, what color is it, what fragrance
Exhales, when you pass by my paths?
The desert almost grows fertile in my imagination
And glistens with rays and aromas
As if you alone among the maidens
Are a sweet yearning and a chirping nightingale
I carried your love in my bosom’s folds as a dream
I fear for it from a disturbing squint
And I dread that an apparition from the past
Weighted down with sins may blemish it
Your tenderness, how more blissful is its face than spring
And how sweeter than your call: My beloved
When you cast worries in my eyes
And the yellowness of sunset on my face
Your palm wipes the drawn out fatigue
And brightness overwhelms me over my paleness
