O cupbearer, my hearing has turned away from my sight

On the pitch black night of autumn

It left and did not come back, leaving

In the depths of my soul the worst trace

What can I say, and if I complained, then of

The injustice of fate and the cruelty of destiny

My chest is contracted and no wonder

And my soul is ransacked by anxiety and boredom

And it established my sorrows and seated them

In my wings, the strings humming

And the cup in my right hand watches me

Sparking so I drink it cautiously

And I forced it down in anguish

Above the sands, and spent the night in hell

And my friends left when they drank

Exchanging the witticisms of the night talk

How excellent are my boon companions, may they never perish

They shine like the stars of the dawn

O cupbearer, and dreams are wandering

Have mercy, bring them back to the destitute

O cupbearer, and days are gloomy

For God's sake, sing and dance and scatter

O cupbearer, and fates are mocking

Us, and we did not mock or scatter

Arise, and let us mock as we were mocked

    By every hoarder and monopolist

Why do I cheerfully greet the sun at sunset

    With the most amazing poems

Why do I bid it farewell in tears when it rises

    And return gloomy

Why do I see the crows flying

While the falcon, my heart's blood, does not fly

Why do I see my neighbor atone for me

And offer sacrifice to the rock

Why do I see the naked asking about Layla's house

    From everyone clothed

Why do I see the pauper panting in

The violent wind and pouring rain

Why do I see Simeon oppress him

    And sleep comfortably on couches

Why do I see the cistern inflated

And his shirt pulled from the back

Why do I see Samson wound me

    And tell his cousin, apologize

Why do I see love is said to kill those

Who love a female or male

Your estrangement has been long, O spring, oh

The misery of birds and flowers

The world of absurdities has become

The fire of lions and paradise of donkeys

Who will get me a noose to pull

Some necks and a sharp sword

O philosopher who will blow in the horn

    Extravagantly, await the resurrection

Those who compare Layla to her father

Are far apart like coal and pearls

The son of Eve stole our rooster at night

And our chickens through him are in danger

And the rat drinks their eggs happily

    Oh the confusion of thoughts

If you are hungry, o hunter, do not

Tire, and leave the birds in the trees

And come talk to us and join us

And eat the finest fruits like others

Do not think, o cupbearer, that my

Hand is tied, the hand of harm is tied

For the free from the injustice of time here

And there between the fang and claw

O beauty, here you are, smash my goblet

For the cup has gone around the cows

Do not be surprised at what I have cracked

For fire cannot be without sparks

O beauty, and my eyelids have grown heavy

Bring the medicine and line my eyes
