Abu Dufafah - who will care for the horses
When they are startled and the spears in the mêlée affright them?
O rider of the charger in the turmoil of battle,
When both hands are occupied fending off blows!
The bravest of horsemen is known for his firmness,
Sufficient when not in dire straits.
And with it I have slain the clan of 'Abs,
Until my heart was healed - could it ever heal?
