سرى النجمُ نجمُ الدين للغرب قاصداً

من الشرق كي يلقى سراجَ المعارفِ

The star, the bright star, traveled westward

From the east to find the lamp of knowledge

فقلت له يا نجم بلّغ تحيتي

وذكري وشكر للندى والعوارف

I said: O star, convey my greetings

And memories, thanks for the dew and wisdom

وزرْ في ربى نجدٍ ديار ابن مالك

تجد كل مجد من تليد وطارف

Stop by the dwellings of Ibn Malik in Najd

There you will find all glory, new and old

وخيم لدى سهلٍ فسهل جنابه

رحيبٌ لجواب الفلا والتنائف

Camp near Sahl's plain, so welcoming

To answers blowing like the wind

وقر إذا تلقاه عيناً بقربه

فسوف يرى لقياك احدى اللطائف

Stay there and when you meet him

You will see it as a fine encounter

وخذ عنه ما ترويه إن جئت مكة

لكل ملب بالمشاعر طائف

Take from him what you hear if you reach Mecca

Each tribe has its own rituals at the holy sites

وصف لبني السبطين قومك فضله

فيا حسن موصوف ويا حسن واصف

Describe to the people your virtues

O you who are beautifully described and beautifully describe
