  1. حَيّا بني رَعدٍ وَليدٌ مُرتجىً

    يُنميه للمجدِ التليدُ الطارفُ

    Greetings, O sons of thunderous Ra'ad, O Waleed, hope fulfilled,

    Nurtured for glory by the gentle, elegant one,

  2. اِستقبِلِ الأيامَ فَهْي روائعٌ

    واعتزَّ بالأخلاقِ فَهْيَ طرائفُ

    Face the days, for they are masterpieces,

    And take pride in morals, for they are graces.

  3. إمّا عَصينَ فهُنَّ نفسٌ حُرَّةٌ

    ولقد سَلِسْنَ فهنّ فيه عَواطفُ

    Whether they disobey, they are a free soul,

    And if they flow smoothly, in them are emotions.

  4. تلكَ السعادةُ وهو في تاريخها

    نجلٌ بظلك أسعدٌ يا آصف

    That is happiness, and in its history

    A son in your shadow, happiest, O Asif.
