A late night traveler on a tired mount
The remnants of its saliva could not justify me
Coming out of the softly lit mountains
Heading towards the rise of Al-Ayyouq
You have no friend in Al-Harrat or Maran or Al-Aqeeq
Except me, the clearly lit road
And startled, peeled palms
That carry the howdah of a smitten lover
Whose neck is rubbed raw from the camel litter
That ends its day with dry provisions
My heart sighed as it was in a strait
Struck by the flashes of lightning
As if it were on the clearly lit road
A dove between swift companions
It barely escapes the grip of the unsteady hands
Slipping away from those same shaky hands
Passing beautiful, graceful palm trees
With stems made firm by abundant water
Rising up in broad and narrow valleys
From the base of the date palm of Al-Maflouq
