منا فوارس قاتلوا عن سبيهم

حاشا لبني المجنون ان أباهم

صاب إذا سطع الغبار الأكدر

Far be it from the sons of Majnun that their father

Was struck when the dust of battle grew dark

لولا بنو بيت الحريش تقسمت

سبي القبائل مازن والعنبر

If it were not for the sons of the Harish clan, the captives

Of the Ma'azin and Anbar tribes would have been divided

زعمت بزوخ بني كلاب أنهم

هزوا الجميع وان كعباً أدبروا
