فَمَن مُبلِغٌ عَنّي خَليلِيَ مالِكاً

رِسالَةَ مَشدودِ الوَثاقِ غَريبِ

Who will convey on my behalf to my friend Malik,

A message from a stranger, tightly bound?

وَمَن مُبلِغٌ حَزماً وَتَيماً وَمالِكاً

وَأَربابَ حامي الجَفرِ رَهطَ شَبيبِ

And who will convey to Hazm, and Taym, and Malik,

And the lords of the sanctuary, the clan of Shabib?

لِيَبلوا الَّتي قالَت بِصَحراءِ مَنعَجٍ

لِيَ الشِركُ يا اِبنَي فائِدِ بنِ حَبيبِ

To test the truth of what she said in the desert of Man'aj:

"The share is mine, O sons of Fa'id bin Habib!"

لِتَضرِبَ في لَحمي بِسَهمٍ وَلَم يَكُن

لَها في سِهامِ المُسلِمينَ نَصيبُ

That she might strike my flesh with an arrow, though there was not

For her, among the arrows of the Muslims, any share.
