وزَوْجَةِ مِغْيارٍ وَصَلْتُ وجَسْرَةٍ
عَجَرْتُ عليها لِمَّتي بردائِيا
And a fiercely jealous man’s wife—I reached her, and boldly dared approach her;
I bound my long tress around her with her own cloak.
لعمري لقد لاقتْ مُرادٌ وخَثْعَمٌ
بِصَوْرانَ منّا إذا لَقونا الدَّواهِيا
By my life, Murād and Khathʿam were surely visited
at Ṣawrān—when they met us—by dire calamities at our hands.
