1. لِمَ لاَ وقَد وَشَّتْ مطارفَها

    كفُّ المليكِ النَّدبِ ذي الكرمِ

    Why not, when its edges are adorned

    With the King’s palm, noble and generous

  2. كفٌّ ذا بَرَزَتْ لِمكْرُمَةٍ

    يَهْدي سَنَاهَا في دُجَى الظُّلّمِ

    A palm that extends to honor

    And guides its blessings in the darkness of gloom

  3. غرّاء ما خُلِقَتْ أَنامِلُها

    إلاّ لِحَملْ السَّيفِ والقَلَمِ

    Her fingers were created for nothing

    Except to wield the sword and the pen

  4. تَرجُو لَهَا طولَ البَقا أُمَمٌ

    بوجودِهَا أمِنتْ مِن العَدَمِ

    Nations wish it eternal existence

    Through it, they are safe from annihilation
