مِحَنٍ لا أطيقُها

I swear by God, with you I'm in

Torment I can hardly endure

بَيْنَ قَلْبٍ تُذيبُه

ودُموعٍ تريقُها

Between a melting heart

And tears pouring down

كيفَ تسلوكَ مُهجةٌ

لَيْسَ يطْغَى حريقُها

How can a burning love comfort you

If its flames don't subside

كيفَ تَنساك أضلعٌ

لَيْسَ بَهْدَاً خفوقُها

How can ribs forget you

If their throbbing doesn't fade
