يا أيّها القاضي الّذي
نعماؤه لا تُجْحَدُ
O you, the judge, whose
Blessings cannot be denied
حاشا لمثلك أنَّه
عن نَصْرِ مثلي يرقدُ
Far be it from one like you
To slumber and neglect helping one like me
ولقد قصدتك والفتى
من لِلمكارم يُقْصَدْ
And indeed I approached you, and the young man
Is approached for his nobility
وغدوتُ لاسْمِك رافعاً
عند النِّدا يا أحمدُ
And I came to you raising high
Your name, O Ahmed
لمّا علمتُ بأنكَ العَلَمُ المنادَى المفردُ
فانهضْ لَها أكْرومةٌ
When I knew that you are the banner, the unique call
So rise for it - a generous lady
بكراً عليها يُحسَدُ
كم مِن يدٍ لكَ في الورى
Whose morning generosity makes others envious
How many a hand in the world
غرّاء تتبَعُها يدُ
Islean, and your hand follows it
