أبثّك فرْطَ اشتياقٍ إليْك

بهِ ظلَّ يعذرني مَنْ عذلْ

I confide to you my intense longing,

Through it, he who blames me is excused.

وإنّي وإن غبتَ عن ناظري

على العَهْدِ طول المدى لم أزَلْ

Though you are absent from my sight,

I have not wavered from my pledge however long the absence.

عقودُ ودادكَ في خاطري

منظّمةٌ عقدُها لا يُحَلّ

The necklaces of your friendship in my heart

Are strung with a knot that cannot be undone.
