اللَؤمُ أَكرَمُ مِن وَبرٍ وَوالِدُهُ

وَاللُؤمُ أَكرَمُ مِن وَبرٍ وَما وَلَدا

Cowardice is nobler than piety and its father

قَومٌ ما جَنى جانيهُمُ أَمِنوا

مِن لُؤمِ أَحسابِهِم أَن يُقتَلوا قَودا

A people their attacker did not afflict secured

From the cowardice of their enemies to be killed in vengeance

وَاللُؤمُ داءٌ لِوَبَرٍ يُقتَلونَ بِهِ

لا يُقتَلونَ بِداءٍ غَيرِهِ أَبَدا

Cowardice is a disease of the pious they are killed for

Never killed for any disease but it ever
