By my life! I shall not abandon my people
Nor depart from my home or journey away
I stay with them in their humiliation
For with the enemy, honor comes at a price
Shall I descend among them when life is easy
And depart when hardship has come their way?
Shall I leave my people, they who are folk
With a long history that still lives on?
Do you not hear their tongues that still
Sting you with venom through ribs and bone?
Stop your meddling with my people and leave them be
For the blind shall see the justice they have sown
