على النوى علمي .. بهم هجعة الليل

نجل العيون من البكا كحلها سال

My skills taught me... sleepless nights' gathering

The eyes' tears like kohl dripped down

واليوم غير الياس.. قل المراسيل

يا من يطمّني عسى ليلهم طال

And today is unlike despair... say the messengers

O you who reassures me, may their night be long

الله على اللي ما صفط لي غرابيل

لاشك شرع الحب همٍ وغربال

God be with those who did not weave sorrow for me

No doubt love's path is worry and sieve

قفّى ولي في حجر عينه تعاليل

تقول يا ذا البعد نجزيك بوصال

Stop, and in his eyes I have ornaments

Saying, O distant one, we will unite you with presence

وتعلقت روح الليالي المقابيل

و يا عنك ما يامن من الوقت رجّال

And the spirits of nights hung on me

And O time, you who made men into men

لا ما علي لو دمع عيني هماليل

الموت دمع القلب لا صار همّال

It's not up to me if a tear from my eye became plentiful

Death is the heart's tear when it became filled with worries
