1. لَهُ هَيدَبٌ دانٍ وَرَعدٌ وَلَجَّةٌ

    وَبَرقٌ تَراهُ ساطِعاً يَتَبَلَّجُ

    He has a soft, gentle thunder, and a languid lightning

    Whose flashes you can see brightly sparkling

  2. فَباتَت كِلابُ الحَيِّ يَنبَحنَ مُزنَهُ

    وَأَضحَت بَناتُ الماءِ فيها تَمَعَّجُ

    So the dogs of the neighborhood barked all night at its tumult

    And in the morning the rain pools were churning and frothing
