Return the cup to me; you do not know
What benefits the cup can bestow.
You frighten me with God, your Lord—
Yet I find hope in Him, not fear.
Had you but tasted what I’ve tasted
You would not mix the wine with water.
If you will not drink here with me
From fear of punishment, I’ll drink alone.
