O you who plows the turbulent waves,
Pieces of highlands in its billows,
O protector of Islam, if only you were present,
While your sons are captive in the bellies of camels,
You have taught, O narcotic of the weak, you have aspired
To throw your weak daughters to the edges,
Their bodies clothed, and what do you know what
The whips’ pants cover,
The honorable lady, the calamity did not take her away,
From her shyness and chastity,
She sought refuge in her wrap, but it did not protect her,
And did not look at her, so she called in a frightened voice,
O life of myself, is there a way for me,
To one of two, your survival or my destruction?
How many sins against you, and verily,
The most painful sin is that of the swords,
If you were wounded, I would have carried medicine to you,
O my beloved, and hoped you would heal,
Oh, if only your eyes had not been absent from Zainab,
And the whip ascends upon her shoulders,
I accompanied my enemies and deserted my loved ones,
And left them slain without shrouds,
And I was beaten, but did not waver to my beaters,
And I was robbed, but did not lose my chastity,
My sons of Louay, where are you from he who twisted
My neck and tied my hands to my shoulders?
Are you satisfied with my situation before Yazid,
In humiliation, oh what ancestry I have!
The tyrant sees my violation as a gift,
And insults my kinship by honoring me,
I was taken captive and my position was placed, and I am the daughter
Of the protector, the guest, and the chief of nobles,
O my brothers, whom you entrusted Zainab with,
Among the strangers in villages and plains,
I am most deserving of abandonment from you, for I
Followed you and distanced myself from your bosoms,
I realized the place of your sorrow, but I,
Oh my Kaaba, forcibly prevented my circling,
And I attended the day of slaughter, but I did not sacrifice
An offering except the nobles of Abd Manaf,
From me is the compassion of a sympathetic person from you, and I do not
See from you except dry harshness,
Reproach upon my people, and my reproach is not upon
My slain, the edges of the sharp swords,
I tried to aid those slain on the ground,
Their ribs and shoulders broken,
And I veiled with a veil those who have no veil
Except my bloodied dress and my braids,
And those whose bodies are severed in Karbala,
And their heads carried on the edges,
Oh what humiliation has spread upon me the garments
I wore my whole life as patches,
My loved ones pass away, and I remain after them
A life by God’s will, but not pure,
How sad I am and I left them
Slain without burial on the sandhills,
If only the enemies tasked me with burying them
Alone, and reckoned that of my rights,
O dwellers of the Valley of Tufoof,
My greetings and pure peace be upon you,
