قالت فتاتي وقد أوليتُها ثقتي

غداً سيحْرثُ عزمي روضَ تجربَتي

My young woman said, having entrusted her to me:

Tomorrow, my determination will plow the garden of my experience,

غداً سأزرعُ أيامي مُثابرةً

وهمَّةً تستقي من نبْع معْرِفتي

Tomorrow I will plant my days with perseverance

And ambition that draws from the spring of my knowledge.

هذا سلاحي طًموحٌ جامحٌ وتُقىً

وأمنياتٌ تسامتْ في مُخَيِّلَتي

This is my weapon - ambitious and intense piety -

And aspirations that have risen in my imagination.

فقلتُ مِثْلُكِ عنوانٌ تتيهُ به

في جبهةِ الفخْرِ إنجازاتُ ترْبِيَتي

So I said: someone like you is a title by which

The achievements of my upbringing wander on the frontier of pride.
