She said: "Wake up, O you who are infatuated with kisses,
How many a kiss has made you drink poison in honey?
A year has passed, dyeing our palms with blood,
And our separation became frail with weakness and cunning.
While we were heedless of what was being plotted against us,
We slept in negligence, and woke up in turmoil.
So I said: 'This is an ailment with no escape for us
From its grip, so how can we be cured, O my hope?'
