لا تقولي خانَ لا لا لم أخُنْ لا تهْزَئي

أنا شرقيُّ الصباباتِ سليمُ المبدأِ

Do not say, no, I did not betray, do not mock me

I am an Easterner, pure in principles

أطفئي نارَ التَّجافي بالتداني واهدئي

واكتبي أنشودةً للحبِّ بِكْراً واقرئي

Extinguish the fire of discord with harmony, and calm yourself

Write a song for chaste love, and recite it

وارسمي خطوَك أحلاماً وشوقاً وابدئي

واستظلي كرمةً تسْقيك شَهْداً واهنئي

Draw your steps as dreams and longing, and begin

Take shelter under a vine that gives you honey, and congratulate yourself

طَهَّري ثوبَك من كلِّ أذىً لا تُرْجَئي

لّنْ تنالي شرفَ الحُبِّ إذا لم تبرئي

Purify your garment from all harm, do not hesitate

For you will not attain the honor of love if you do not absolve
