فإياكَ إياكَ الزنا فإنّه

سوادٌ لوجه المرء دنياً وآخره

Beware, beware of adultery, for it

Blackens the face of a man in this world and the next,

ومقتٌ من الباري فيا بعد ماقِتٍ

من الله لا يُلفي من الأرض ناصرَه

And earns the wrath of the Creator - so after earning wrath

From God, one will not find on earth a helper.

وكن باذلاً ما اسطعت في الله موقناً

بحسن الجزا فاجهد ولا تخش فاقره

Be generous while you have the means, certain of

God's excellent reward - so strive and do not fear poverty.

فكم من فتىً قد جاءه الموت عاجلاً

وأعطى فأحياه الإله وآثره

For many a young man has met with sudden death

And gave, so God gave him life and preferred him.
