وبحنا بمن نهوى متى اتضح الأمر

سماها سمى بنت الرسول لها الصب

وحكمها فيما تشا الحب والتشعر

You named her, named her the daughter of the Messenger, for her is passion

And her rule in what she desired of love and poetry

زمام الهوى قتّاله الصبا بالهوى

وما فاتها منه ذراع ولا شبر

The youth's passion was killing him with love

And nothing missed him, not an arm's length or a handspan

وهل قط يحتاج النهار لنا إلى

دليل ولا شك إذا طلع الفجر

And does the daytime ever need for us

A guide? There is no doubt when dawn breaks
