  1. أحبو إلى صدرِ المجازِ

    أعانقُ المعنى الحنونْ

    More beloved to the heart of metaphor,

    I embrace the affectionate meaning;

  2. ما بينَ صمتِ الصّاخباتِ

    وبين جلجلةِ السّكون

    Between the silence of clamors

    And the clatter of stillness—

  3. فهناكَ أغفو والمنى

    وهناكَ ألتحفُ الجنونْ

    There I doze, fulfilled,

    And there I wrap myself in madness;

  4. وهناكَ .. أنسى غربتي

    وهناك .. أدركُ من نكونْ

    There I forget my estrangement

    And there I recognize who we are.
