Muhammad wept with emotion when he saw me,
Muhammad wept out of joy when he saw me,
as though he would not see me return again.
As if he would not see me returning to my homeland.
So I spent the night kept away by his streaming tears
He spent the night turning away from me while his tears dripped down,
and his weeping, from my bed and pillow.
And his crying dampened my bed and pillow.
So I said to him, "Bring your saddle frames near and set out,
So I said to him, gather your belongings and get ready to leave,
and fear no coldness from me in any land.
Do not fear any estrangement from me in this land.
And release the pale camels' rein, and travel together with us,
And release the reins of the camel and let us travel together,
with firm resolve in our undertaking and sound judgment.
With strong resolve in our matter and proper guidance.
And go forth among those departing, as an escort
And go freely among the traveling folk, bidding farewell
to a kinsman; the company are not far off."
To a kinsman, while the people are not wont to bid farewell.
So we departed with the caravan whose riders set out,
We were happy with the caravan whose riders
heading from Ghawrayn toward the land of Iyad.
Were heading from the valleys of the land of Iyad.
