وَفَدَ الرَّشيدُ لِشَرقِنا فَتَهَلَّلا

وَرَأَى بِهِ الإِسلامُ ما قَد أَمَّلا

The Rashid came to our East, so it rejoiced,

And with him Islam saw what it had hoped for.

نَقِيَت بِهِ تُدميرُ مِن أَخلاطِها

فَكَأَنَّما شَرِبَت دَواءً مُسهِلا

With him its impurities were purified,

As though it had drunk a purging medicine.
