لواؤكَ منصورٌ وسعدُكَ غالبُ
وحزبكَ للأعداءِ عنكَ مُحارِبُ
Your banner is victorious and your fortune conquering
And your party is fighting your enemies on your behalf
لقد ثكلت أمُّ المناوي وغرَّرَت
مبادئُ من أحوالهِ وعواقِبُ
Alas, the mother of misfortunes has been bereaved and deceived
By the principles of those whose state and consequences
سما لاستراقِ السمعِ من وهداتِهِ
ودونَ سماءِ المُلكِ شُهبٌ ثواقِبُ
It listens stealthily to their idle talk
And below the sky of the kingdom are shooting stars
تلاقى عليه البرُّ والبحرُ تَرتَمي
سفينٌ إلى استئصالهِ وكتائِبُ
Good and evil meet against it, a ship
To eradicate it and battalions
غريقٌ بِغَرقى مثلِهِ مُتمسِّكٌ
وموجُ المنايا مثلُهُم مُتَراكِبُ
A drowning man clinging to another drowning like him
And the wave of death upon them accumulating
هوت بِهُمُ الأطماعُ في هُوَّةِ الرَّدى
وغرتهُمُ جَهلاً بُروقٌ خَوالِبُ
Their greed has plunged them into the abyss of misery
And ignorance has deluded them with misleading lights
أطاعُوا غوياً لم تُقَيِّدهُ شِرعَةٌ
وَلَم تُرِهِ وَجهَ الصَّوابِ التجارِبُ
They obeyed a misguided one unrestrained by law
Nor deterred by the face of right and experience
مُغيبُ وجه الرأي والوَجهُ حائِرٌ
يُرى حاضِراً في أمرِهِ وهوَ غائِبُ
The face of opinion is obscured and the deceived face wandering
Seen present in his matter while absent
دعاهُم إلى آجالِهِم فتهافَتُوا
كما جمعَ الأعوادَ للنَّارِ حاطِبُ
It called them to their dying so they scrambled
As the kindling is gathered for the fire
تصامَمَ عن وَعظِ الزمانِ بِقَلبِهِ
وأعرضَ عن وَجهِ الهُدى وهو لاحِبُ
He defied the advice of time at heart
And turned away from the face of guidance though undesiring
تخيلَ أن الناصِريَّةَ دارُهُ
يُطاعِنُ عَن ساحاتها وَيُضَاربُ
He imagined the city of Nasiriya to be his abode
He assails her squares and fights
وفي الغيبِ من إنجادِ طائفةِ الهُدى
ونصر أميرِ المؤمنين غرائبُ
And in the unseen is the support of the party of guidance
And strange victories for the Commander of the Faithful
هو الامرُ أمرُ اللَهِ ليس يَفوتُهُ
مُناوٍ ولا ينأى عليه مناصب
It is the matter of God, none can escape it
Neither seeking refuge nor far from positions
وما هارِبٌ منهُ ولو بَلَغَ السُّها
بِناجٍ وهل ينجو من اللَه هارب
None flees from it even if he reaches Al-Suhā
In a star, can one fleeing from God escape?
بناصرِها المنصورِ تاهت خِلافَةٌ
تُناسِبُهُ في حُسنِهِ ويناسِبُ
With its victorious supporter, a contested caliphate wandered
Befitting his beauty and befitting him
إمامٌ لَهُ فَضلٌ على الخلقِ باهِرٌ
ومَرتَبَةٌ تنحطُّ عنها المراتِبُ
An Imam who has outstanding virtue over people
And a rank above which ranks cannot climb
مناقِبُهُ مثلُ الكواكِبِ كثرةً
ونُوراً ألا اللَهِ تلكَ المناقِبُ
His virtues like stars abundant
In number and light but God those virtues
هي الدوحةُ الشماءُ في الأرضِ أصلُها
وقد زاحَمَت مِنها السماءَ الذوائبُ
It is the celestial banner on earth its origin
And clouds have crowded it from the sky
له نسبةٌ قيسيةٌ قدسيةٌ
تُقِرُّ لها بالمعلواتِ مُواهِبُ
He has a Qurayshi lineage, sacred
Gifts affirm it with properties
بقيتم أميرَ المؤمنينَ وسعدُكُم
تُهَزُّ قناً منهُ وتنضى قواضِبُ
You have remained, Commander of the Faithful, and your fortune
Shaking a spear from him and sharpening blades
