Sol 5.6

  1. At your command, the two weighty races—humankind and jinn—move;

    and through your victory, the twin spans—day and night—alternate.

  2. And through that which grieves your enemy and delights you,

    the celestial spheres move in their revolutions.

  3. You strove for God with the striving due to Him,

    and rose amid trembling and palpitations.

  4. The Ḥanīf faith assailed them—the faith whose

    triumph over all religions was decreed.

  5. God decreed conquests for you over the foes;

    this is one of them, and all besides it is like a title.

  6. This is the Chosen One’s station—how blessed is he

    who attained therein succession to Ḥassān!

  7. Whoever truly knows the All-Merciful will acknowledge

    the rights due to the All-Merciful’s caliph.
