مشى اللومُ في الدُنيا طَريداً مُشرَّداً

يَجوبُ بلادَ اللَهِ شَرقَاً ومَغرِبا

Blame wandered the world exiled and banished,

Roaming the lands of God both East and West.

فلمَّا أتى فاساً تَلَقَّاهُ أهلُها

وقالوا لهُ أهلاً وسهلاً ومرحبا

When he came to Fes, its people welcomed him,

Saying, "Welcome, at ease, and greetings to you."
