أبَا بَحرٍ سلامُ اللهِ يَترَى
عَلَيكَ وَإِن تَكَنَّفَكَ الحِجَابُ
O Abu Bahr, may God’s peace come unceasingly
Upon you, though the veil enfolds you.
أحُومُ عَلَى كَنِّيكَ وَنَأى مَحَلٌّ
فَسِيَانِ انتِزَاحٌ وَاقتِرَابُ
I hover around your shelter, though the dwelling lies far away;
For distance and nearness are all the same.
فَحَسبي أن أُرَقرِقَ دَمعَ عَينِي
وَتُُسعِدني السَّحائِبُ والصِّحَابُ
It is enough for me to let my eye’s tears flow,
While clouds and companions join me in weeping.
