أي غد مع يد دد ذي حروف

طاوعت في الرويّ وهي عيون

What day with hand of letters quarrels and browbeats

And pierces unruly with pen in declaim

ودواة اوالحوت والنون نونا

ت عصتهم وأمرهم مستبين

The whale's inkhorn and the N of the noon

Disobeyed them and their affair apparent
