سوى قمر الهدى يخشى الأُفولا

وغيرُ الحقِّ يخشى أن يميلا

None but the guiding moon fears setting,

And none but the truth fears leaning.

وغير منابتِ الإيمان تخشى

إذا ما الغيث أَطْلَفها الذُّبولا

And none but the plants of faith fear

Withering if rain fails them.

وغير عقول أهل الحقِّ تخشى

ضلالاً أو ضياعاً أو ذهولا

And none but the minds of the people of truth fear

Straying, or loss, or madness.

وما كلُّ البقاع إذا سَقتْها

غوادي السُّحْب تجعلُها حقولا

And not all lands, if irrigated by

The clouds' valleys, become meadows.

فكم أرضٍ يَمُرُّ السيلُ منها

ولم تَحْفَظْ كثيراً أو قليلا

So how much land does the flood pass

Without preserving much or little?

وكم أرضٍ يُداعبُها سحابٌ

فتنشرُ فوقَنا ظِلاًّ ظليلا

And how much land is caressed by a cloud,

Then spreads over us welcome shade?

وما كلُّ القلوبِ إذا دَعاها

لسانُ الحقِّ تمنحه قبولا

And not all hearts, if called by

The tongue of truth, grant acceptance.

فكم قلبٍ دعاه الحقُّ لكنْ

أبى أنْ يسمع القول الجميلا

So how many a heart has truth called, but

Refused to hear the good word?

وكم قلبٍ إذا ناداه حقٌّ

إليه هفا، وزادَ به حُفُولا

And how many a heart, when a truth

Called to it, recoiled and retreated?

نرى الأشجار سامقةً ولكنْ

نرى الزيتون أكرمَ، والنَّخيلا

We see trees tall, yet we see

Olives best, and palms.

وفي الأنعام أصنافٌ ولكنْ

يَظَلُّ الخيرُ يكتنف الخيولا

And among cattle are kinds, but

The good remains to envelop horses.

ونُبصر حولنا بشراً كثيراً

وأهل الخير أهداهم سبيلا

And we see around us many humans,

Yet people of virtue found the path.

ألا يا منهجَ الإسلامِ إني

أزفُّ لك القصيدةَ سلسبيلا

Behold! O path of Islam I

Bring to you the ode flowing.

نظمتُ حروفها ياقُوْتَ حُبٍّ

وبالأَوزانِ أرضيتُ الخليلا

I composed its letters, O beloved,

And pleased Al-Khalil with its meter.

مَلأْتُ إهابَها نوراً لأني

جعلتُ غِذاءَها الفكر الأصيلا

I filled its rhetorics with light, for

I made its nourishment original thought.

ولم أفتح لها أبوابَ وهمٍ

ولم أجلبْ لها فكراً دَخيلا

And I opened not for it doors of illusion,

Nor brought to it borrowed thought.

لقد أركَضْتُ نَحْوَك خيلَ شعري

تَجُوبُ الأُفْقَ تَمْلَؤُه صهيلا

I have sent to you my poetry steeds

Galloping the horizon, filling it with neighing.

تمرُّ بطيبةِ الهادي وتمضي

إلى الأقصى ولا ترضى القُفولا

Passing by Taybah of the Guide, and going

To Al-Aqsa without accepting retreat.

أَزفُّ بها مباركةً بصومٍ

وشَهْرٍ جاءَنا شَهْراً فَضيلا

I send you, blessed with fasting

And a month that came to us virtuous.

وبالعيد الذي يأتي بَشوشاً

ويجعل خُطْوَةَ الأَفراحِ مِيْلا

And with Eid that comes joyfully

And makes the pace of joys incline.

كذاكَ الشِّعْرُ بالإيمان يسمو

ويحمل للورى هَدَفاً نَبيلا

Thus poetry with faith ascends

And carries for humanity a noble goal.

ألا يا منهجَ الإسلام، إنَّا

لَنُعْلِنُها وما نخشى عَذُولا

Behold! O path of Islam, we

Proclaim it and fear no rebuttal.

نُحبُّ بلادَنا جبلاً وسهلا

ونعشق بِيدَها عرضاً وطولا

We love our countries, mountain and plain,

And passionately love its breadth and length.

ونعشق نخلها يعطي غذاءً

ويَنْبُوعَ الهدى يشفي الغَليلا

And love its palm tree that gives food

And the spring of guidance that heals hearts.

أليستْ مهبط القرآن لمَّا

تلاه المصطفى سَلَبَ العقولا؟

Is it not where the Qur’an descended when

The Chosen one recited it, amazed minds?

ورثنا منهج القرآن فيها

سماويَّاً، وتابعنا الرَّسولا

We inherited from it the Qur’an’s path

Heavenly, and we followed the Messenger.

وتلك النِّعمة الكبرى أثارتْ

حسوداً أو حَقوداً أو عميلا

And that great blessing provoked

An envious one, or spiteful one, or agent.

رَمَوْنا بالتَّمَذْهُب حين قالوا:

بوهَّابيَّةٍ أَغْوَتْ قَبيلا

They accused us of Wahhabism when they said:

“It has misled a tribe.”

وما صدقوا، فقد كَذَبُوا علينا

وصاغوا من روايتهم فصولا

Yet they did not speak true about us,

And fabricated from their narration chapters.

أوهَّابيَّةٌ، والحقُّ شمسٌ

يبدِّد نورُها الليل الطَّويلا؟

Wahhabism! While the truth is a sun

Whose light dispels the long night?

وما عَرَف الإمامانِ انحرافاً

عن الإسلام أوْ تركا دَليلا

And the two Imams never deviated

From Islam or abandoned proof.

لقد رَفَعا لواءَ الشَّرْع، علماً

وسيفاً في حمايته صقيلا

They raised the banner of Shariah, in knowledge

And by the sword to protect it, sharpened.

وتلك الدَّعْوَةُ الكبرى، عليها

تَظَلُّ فُروعنا ترعى الأُصولا

And that greatest call which

Our branches follow, shepherding the fundamentals.

بنى عبدالعزيز بها كياناً

ورثنا صرحَه جيلاً فجيلا

Abdulaziz built by it a structure

We inherited, generation after generation.

وما زِلْنا نمدُّ له الأيادي

رعيلاً صادقاً يتلو رعيلا

And we still extend to it hands,

A sincere lineage followed by lineage.

أمانةُ حِفْظِه آلتْ إلينا

لأنَّ الله قدَّر أنْ تَؤُولا

The trust to keep it came to us

Because Allah willed it would come to pass.

ومَنْ حَفِظَ المبادئَ نال فمنها

على دَرْبِ الهدى مَجْداً أثيلاً

And whoever kept the principles obtained through them

On the path of truth lasting glory.

ألا يا مَنْهَجَ الإسلام شكراً

لأنك لم تدعْ للوهمِ قِيْلا

Behold! O path of Islam, thank you

Because you did not allow illusion tales.

مَلأْتَ القَلْبَ إيماناً وحُبَّاً

وكم عانى من البَلْوَى شُكولاً

You filled the heart with faith and love

And how much it suffered from affliction and sorrow.

جَلَوْتَ لنا الحقيقةَ في شُؤونٍ

يكاد الحالُ فيها أنْ يَحُولا

You have clarified reality for us in matters

Its state therein almost changed.

مَنَحْتَ مكانةَ الإخلاص قَدْراً

يجنِّبها المُكابرَ والجَهُولا

You have given sincerity a value

That would spare it stubbornness and ignorance.

وصُغْتَ لهذه الدنيا نِظاماً

يَصُدُّ يَدَاً تَرُوم المستحيلا

And you have set for this world a system

That deters a hand aspiring to the impossible.

وصُنْتَ العِلْمَ والفتوى بِهَدْي

يبعد عن منابرها العَجُولا

And you have protected knowledge and jurisprudence with guidance

That distances from its platforms the hasty.

حَمَيْتَ النَّاس من بَلْوَى غُلوٍّ

وقولٍ يجعلُ العصفورَ فِيْلا

You have protected people from the affliction of extremism

And words that make a sparrow an elephant.

ومن فَتْوَى تُضِلُّ ذَواتِ سِتْرٍ

فيكَسِرْنَ الأساورَ والحُجولا

And from juristic opinions that mislead those in coverings

To break their bracelets and barriers.

كشفت بمنهج القرآن رأْياً

هُلاميَّاً، وتفكيراً هَزِيلاً

You have uncovered by the Qur’an’s path an

Illusory opinion and feeble thinking.

وأصنافاً من الأقلامِ ظَلَّتْ

تصوِّر مَنْهَجَ الإسلام غُولا

And sorts of pens have remained

Depicting the path of Islam as ghoul.

ألا يا مَنْهجَ الإسلامِ إنَّا

لنشكر ربَّنا شكراً جزيلا

Behold! O path of Islam we

Thank our Lord abundantly.

ونُؤمن أنَّ صرحك سوف يبقى

لأنَّ الحقَّ يَأْبى أنْ يزُولا

And we believe your structure will remain

Because truth refuses to pass.

نقول لهذه الدنيا جميعاً

وحُقَّ لمن تيقَّنَ أنْ يَقُولا

We say to this whole world

And it is the right of those convinced to say:

حَبَانا الله بالإسلام عِزَّاً

ولن نرضى بمنهجه بَديلاً

“God has granted us might through Islam

And we will not accept an alternative path.”
