عرفتك ماعرفتك من قريب

ولكن التعارف بالقلوب

I did not know you closely

Yet hearts can get acquainted

وكم يحظى الفتى بالحب من

على بعد ويوصف بالحبيب

And how often does a young man gain love

From afar and gets called a lover

أيا خطاب أمتنا التقين

على حُلم المجاهد والأديب

O address of our pious nation

On the patience of the mujahid and the literary

تلاقينا بأرواح هداه

إلى إلاسلام علامُ الغُيوب

We met with spirits His guidance

Led to Islam the Knower of the unseen

إذا رُفع الأذانُ لها تسامت

بإحساس المنادي والمجيب

When the call to prayer is raised for it

It rises with the feeling of the caller and the respondent

تلاقينا بأفئدة عطاش

إلى حور وجنات وطيب

We met with thirsty hearts

For houri, gardens and fragrance

لها نبض يكاد يذوب وجداً

بماللشوق فيها من لهيب

It has a pulse that almost melts with fervor

With what longing in it is from flame

قلوب ياأخا العزمات يبقى

لها من صدقها أوفى نصيب

Hearts O brother of determination remains

For its sincerity the most faithful share

نعم والله لن تلقى محباً

لغير الله يثبت في الدروب

Yes, by Allah, you will not find a lover

For other than Allah firmly fixed on the roads

قريب من مشاعرنا قريب

فيا فرح المشاعر بالقريب

Close to our feelings, close

So joy to feelings with the close

لئن بعُدت بك الأحداث عن

ولم تمهلك أهوال الخطوب

If events have distanced you

And ordeals did not give you time

فإنك لم تزل بالذكر حياً

وبالعزمات والرأى الُمصيب

You have not ceased to be alive in remembrance

And with determination and correct opinion

تلاقينا على واحات حب

سقاها هاتنُ الغيم السكوب

We met in the oases of love

Watered by the pouring rainclouds

وفرق بين ماء الغيث يهمي

وبين الماء ينزح من قليب

And distinguish between rain water roaring

And the water dripping from my heart

وفرق بين قافية تغنت

بأمجادي وقافية لعُوب

And distinguish between an ode that sang

My glories and an ode of playfulness

إلى خطاب اُمتنا التحاي

من القمم الشواهق والسُهوب

To the address of our excellent nation

From the lofty and easy summits and plains

من الهمم التي عرفته طفلاً

ومن روض المروءات الخصيب

From the ambitions that knew you as a child

And from the meadow of fertile chivalry

ومن ذرات كثبان الصحارى

إذا زحفت بها كف الهُبوب

And from the particles of desert dunes

When the blowing wind crept with them

من النخل البواسق من عُذوق

ومن سعف يلوح ومن عسيب

From the towering palm trees, from fruits

And from swaying fronds and ripe dates

جبال(الهندكوش) رأتك ليثاً

يعلم صعبها لُغة الوثوب

The mountains of the Hindu Kush saw you as a lion

Who knows their language of ascension

وداغستانُ مدت راحتيها

بفيض من مشاعرها عجيب

And Dagestan stretched out both her hands

With an amazing overflow of her feelings

وفي الشيشان ناديت المعالي

بصوت ليس عنها بالغريب

And in Chechnya you called for greatness

In a voice that is not strange to it

سقيت ربوعها بدموع صب

بكى من حال عالمنا المريب

You watered its plains with pouring tears

Crying over the terrible state of our world

تداعى الآكلون فليت شعري

أنردعهم بتمزيق الجيوب؟!

The wrongdoers are assembling, I wish I knew

Shall I deter them by tearing open their pockets?!

وهل نلقى التآمر بالتغاضي

ونخلص بالعيوب من العيوب؟!

And shall we meet conspiracy with indifference

And rid flaws through flaws?!

وما نسعى الى حرب ولكن

إذا فرضت صبرنا في الحروب

And we do not seek war, but

If it imposes patience on us in wars

وألحقنا الأوائل بالتوالي

وأبرق حد صارمنا الخضيب

And we joined the early ones consecutively

And the edge of our sword flashed white

ولو أن العدو يريد سلما

لقابلناه في روض قشيب

And if the enemy wants peace

We would meet him in a lush meadow

وألبسناه ثوباً من أمان

وظللناه بالغصن الرطيب

And clothe him in a garment of safety

And shade him with a moist branch

ولكن العدو يريد حربا ً

مسممة المخالب والنيوب

But the enemy wants a poisonous war

With claws and fangs

إذا نطق الرصاص فلا تسلني

عن الخُطب البليغة والخطيب

If bullets speak, do not ask me

About eloquent speeches and the orator

رعاك الله لم تجنح لخوف

يذوب همة الرجل الأريب

May God protect you, you did not incline to fear

That melts the ambition of the honorable man

بإحدى مقلتيك رأيت قلباً

جريح النبض مخنوق الوجيب

With one of your eyelids I saw a heart

Beating wounded choked rib cage

وبالأخرى رأيت من الأعادي

مؤامرة على الوطن السليب

And with the other I saw enemies

Conspiring against the stolen homeland

رأيت المسلمات مشردات

كقطعان من الإبل (العزيب)

I saw Muslim women displaced

Like herds of camels, lonely

يصورهن إعلام المآسي

ليعرضهن في خبر غريب

The media depicts their tragedy

To display them in a strange news

وماذا يعرض الإعلام إل

وجوهاً تشتكي ألم الندوب

And what does the media display

Except faces complaining of wounds

رأيت الجرح أكبر من طبيب

ومن تشخيص أجهزة الطبيب

I saw the wound bigger than the doctor

And the diagnosis of the doctor

فأطلقت العزيمة من عقال

يقيدها عن السعي الدؤوب

So I released determination from the bridle

That restricts it from relentless pursuit

دعاك إلى جهاد بكاء طفل

وما أبصرته من غدر (ذيب)

A child's cry called you to jihad

And the betrayal you saw from the wolf

رأيتك والرياح ثهُب غرباً

تميل الى الشروق عن الغروب

I saw you while the winds blow west

Incline to the east away from sunset

وتبصر في طريق المجد شمساً

مبرأة الضياء من المغيب

And you see in the path of glory a sun

Innocent in brightness from setting

رأت عيناك فجراً مستضيئاً

يُزيل غياهب الليل الكئيب

Your eyes saw a bright dawn

That removes the gloom of sad night

فأركضت الخيول إليه حتى

أضأت بشاشة الوجه الغضوب

So the horses raced to it until

The cheerfulness of the angry face shone

إذا حمى (الوطيس) فسوف يبدو

لنا الرجلُ الصدوقُ من الكذوب

If intentions are heated then the honest man will appear

from the liars

تقول لك الجبال الشًم: أقبل

بعزم الفارس الحذر اللبيب

The north mountains say to you come

With the determination of the prudent knight

وماخشيت عليك من الأعادي

ولكن من خيانة مستريب

And I did not fear for you from the enemies

But from trusted betrayal

ومن غدر المنافق حين يلوي

عمامة خائن يوم (الضريب)

And from the hypocrite's treachery when he twists

The turban of a traitor on the day of hardship

لو أن السم يعرف ماعرفنا

لقال لخطة الأعداء :خيبي

If poison knew what we knew

It would say to the enemies' plan: disappoint!

أخا العزمات إنا قد صبرنا

ولم نجنح إلى لغة الهُروب

Brother of determination, we have endured

And did not incline to the language of escape

بكتك يتيمة وبكت سبايا

يرين الحرب دائمة النُشوب

Your orphan has cried and captives have cried

They see war constantly flaring up

يرين الفجر أسود بالمآسي

وتُؤذيهن أصوات النعيب

They see the dawn blackened by tragedies

And voices of wailing hurt them

أعزيهن فيك ذرفن دمعاً

سقين بوبله شجر النحيب

I console them in you, they shed tears

Watering the tree of weeping with its floods

أعزي فيك أُماً شرفتها

مواقف ليثها البطل المهيب

I console in you a mother whose manliness

Terrifying situations made sublime

وما فقدتك في لعب ولهو

ولافقدتك في أمر مُريب

And you were not lost in play or vanity

Nor were you lost in a shameful matter

تقول لها بطولتك :اطمئني

وقري بالفتى عيناً وطيبي

Your bravery says to her: be reassured

And delight the boy, cheer up and perfume yourself

لقد أرضعته عزماً وحزماً

ووجدان الأبي مع الحليب

She nursed you determination and firmness

And your father’s tenderness with milk

رأتك بقلبها بطلاً شجاعاً

قوي العزم ميمون الوثوب

She saw you in her heart a brave hero

Strong in determination, fortunate in attire

فأشرق وجهُها فرحاً وتاقت

إلى لقياك في الكنف الرحيب

So her face shone with joy and yearned

To meet you in the kind bosom

أعزي فيك أمك وهي أدرى

بمعنى الصبر في الوقت العصيب

I console your mother in you and she knows best

The meaning of patience in dire times

كأني بالوسائد والزرابي

على سرر تُضمخ بالطيُوب

It is as if I look at the pillows and the mattresses

Bloodstained on beds

وحور العين قد هيأن فيها

مقاماً للحبيبة والحبيب

And the maidens of heaven prepared therein

A place for the beloved and the lover

أرى غُرفاً من الياقوت فيها

بدا سرُ العجيبة والحبيب

I see rooms of ruby in which

The secret of the wonderful and the beloved appeared

فما سمعت بها أُذنا شغوف

ولابصرت بها عينا رقيب

No eager ear has heard of it

Nor has a watchful eye seen it

أخا العزمات في الشيشان ،يامن

ركبت إلى العلا أسمى ركوب

Brother of determination in Chechnya, O you

Who rode the highest riding zeniths

رحلت عن الحياة ، فما جزعنا

برغم الحزن والدمع الصبيب

You journeyed from life, yet we do not despair

Despite the sadness and the flood of tears

رضينا بالقضاء رضا يقين

وتسليم لغفار الذنوب

We accepted fate with the certainty of conviction

And surrender to the forgiver of sins
