1. قُل لِمَنْ يأبى إلى الحقِّ استماعا

    هكذا يُقتَلَعُ البغْيُ اقتِلاعا

    Tell those who refuse to listen to the truth

    This is how tyranny is uprooted, utterly uprooted

  2. هكذا ينتفضُ المظلومُ ، حتى

    يرحلَ الظالمُ ، أو يُبدي انصياعا

    This is how the oppressed rise up, until

    The oppressor leaves, or shows compliance

  3. قصَّةٌ ينقُلُها التاريخُ نقلاً

    واضِحَ المعنى ، ويرْوِيها تِباعا

    A story that history relates clearly

    With a clear meaning, telling it in sequence

  4. كمْ سِباعٍ فَتَكَتْ ، لكنَّ شهماً

    واحِداً روَّعَ بالسَّهمِ السِّباعا

    How many predators pounced, but one

    Brave lion scared them with its arrow

  5. كمْ رأينا ظالماً أغراهُ نصرٌ

    زائفٌ حتَّى تمادى وأذَاعَا

    How many oppressors we saw, deluded by

    A false victory, until they transgressed all bounds

  6. نامَ في سكْرتِهِ عنْ كفِّ داعٍ

    يسألُ الله عن الحقِّ دِفاعا

    Lost in their intoxication, not hearing the plea

    Of one who asks God to defend what is right

  7. حينَما زلْزلَهُ الله رأيْنا

    وجْهَه الكالحُ يزدادُ امتقاعا

    When God shook them we saw

    Their smug faces grow even more arrogant

  8. أدركَ المسكينُ أنَّ الظلْمَ نارٌ

    تأكُلُ البغيَ وإنْ ذاعَ وشاعا

    The wretch realized that injustice is a fire

    That consumes tyranny, however far it spreads

  9. ياضِعَافَ الأرضِ لا ترضوا بظلْمٍ

    من رجالٍ لبسوا فيكم قناعا

    O weak ones of the earth, do not accept oppression

    From men who wear masks over you

  10. همْ ذئابٌ وضباعٌ ، كيف يصفو

    عيشُ منْ ولَّى ذئاباً وضباعا

    They are wolves and beasts of prey, how can life be good

    For those ruled by wolves and beasts?

  11. أنا لا أدْعو إلى العُنْفِ فهذا

    مسْلكٌ يُحدِثُ في الصَّرحِ انصداعَا

    I do not call for violence, for that

    Causes cracks in the palace walls

  12. إنَّما أدْعوا إلى وقفةِ حقٍّ

    ترفُضُ الحاكِمَ شيطاناً مُطاعا

    Rather, I call for taking a stand for truth

    That rejects the ruler who lords it over us

  13. تونُسَ الخضراءَ إنْ ناداكِ شعري

    واهِنَ الصوتِ ، فهذا ما استطاعا

    Green Tunisia, if my poetry calls you

    Do not silence my voice, for that is what I can do

  14. نحنُ لمْ نَغْفل ، فإنَّا في بقاعٍ

    تخدِمُ الإسلامَ ، ما أغلى البقَاعَا

    We have not been neglectful, for we live in lands

    That serve Islam, how precious are these lands

  15. رفرَفَتْ رايَاتُنا بالأمنِ حتَّى

    أصبحتْ في ظُلْمةِ العصرِ شُعاعا

    Our banners have fluttered in security until

    They became rays of light in the dark age

  16. غيرَ أنَّا ما نسينا كُلَّ شعبٍ

    مسلمٍ أورثَهُ البغيُ الصُّداعا

    But we have not forgotten any Muslim people

    Whose oppression has given them headaches

  17. نُصرةُ المظلومِ حقٌّ ، منْ تراخى

    دونَهُ ، ذاقَ انكساراً و الْتِياعا

    To help the oppressed is a duty - he who falls

    Short of it will taste defeat and confusion

  18. تُونُسَ الخضراءَ إنَّ الظلمَ ليلٌ

    سوف يلْقى ،كيفما طالَ ، انقشاعا

    Green Tunisia, injustice is a night

    That will surely end, however long it lasts

  19. إنَّها سُنَّةُ هذا الكونِ مهْما

    أسرَفَ الظَالِمُ وازْدَادَ انْدِفاعا

    For this is the way of this universe, no matter

    How excessive the oppressor and forceful his attack

  20. حينما ينتفضُ المظلومُ يحمي

    أرْضَهُ ممَّنْ شرى الوهمَ وباعا

    When the oppressed rise up to protect

    Their land from those who buy delusions and sell them

  21. ويُعيدُ الناسَ منْ رِحْلةِ وهمٍ

    كُلَّ من رافق فيها الوهمَ ضاعا

    And return the people from a journey of delusions

    Where all those who embarked on it were lost

  22. ليتَ من يسرفُ في الغفْوةِ يصْحو

    ليرى صَرْحَ الهوى كيفَ تداعى

    If only those lost in heedlessness would wake

    To see the palace of desire crumbling

  23. إنَّه العدلُ ، فهلْ يفهَمُ باغٍ

    أنَّ هَدْمَ العدْلِ لا يبني قِلاعا

    It is justice - can the aggressor understand

    That destroying justice does not build castles?

  24. إنَّهُ العدلُ يُريحُ الناسَ ممَّنْ

    ملأَ الأرضَ خِلافاً ونِزاعا

    It is justice that gives people relief from those

    Who filled the earth with disputes and conflicts

  25. إَّنهُ العدْلُ ، فمنْ حقَّقَ عدْلاً

    قادَ في دوَّامةِ البحرِ الشِّراعا

    It is justice -so whoever establishes justice

    Can sail the stormy seas with raised sails

  26. تونُسَ الخضْراءَ إنَّ الحقَّ غُصْنٌ

    مُثْمِرٌ يجنيهِ منْ مدَّ الذِّراعا

    Green Tunisia, truth is a fruitful branch

    That can be harvested if you stretch out your hand

  27. جامِعُ الزَّيتونةِ الأسمى سيبْقى

    رمْزَكِ الأسمى ، فزيدِيهِ ارتفاعا

    The magnificent Zaytuna will remain

    Your supreme symbol - make it taller still
