1. ماذا تقول لك الأشعار يا عمر

    وعند نبعك بحر الشعر ينحسر

    What do poems tell you, O Omar

    While at your spring, the sea of poetry recedes

  2. كأنني بقوافي الشعر قد وقفت

    هيَّابةً عند باب الجود تنتظر

    As if I stood at the rhymes of poetry

    Awe-struck at the door of generosity, waiting

  3. لو لم يكن لك إلا العدل لانبهرتْ

    به ، فكيف بها و الفضل منتشر

    Had you only justice, it would have dazzled

    So what of it and benevolence being widespread?

  4. عدل وجود وإقدام وتزكية

    وللفراسة شأنٌ فيك معتبر

    Justice, generosity, valiance and purification

    And insight holds a significant status in you

  5. سهرت ليلك ترعى حال أرملة

    ترعى اليتامى ودمع العين ينهمر

    You stayed up at night to watch over the state of a widow

    To watch over orphans as tears streamed

  6. حتى حملت لها كيس الطحين وفي

    عينيك من أدمع محبوسة أثر

    Until you carried for her a sack of flour though

    In your eyes were traces of suppressed tears

  7. لله درك طوَّعت الخلافة في

    مصالح الناس حتى أينع الثمر

    May God reward you, you made the caliphate

    Serve people's interests until the fruit ripened

  8. محدَّثٌ أنت بين الناس ميَّزهُ

    ربُّ العباد بما يُجلى به البصر

    You are a storyteller among people, distinguished by

    The Lord of All People with what clarifies sights

  9. كم أيد الله من رأي نطقت به

    فصار تتلى به الآيات والسور

    How much has God supported counsel you uttered

    That it became recited as verses and surahs

  10. يفرُّ من دربك الشيطان منهزم

    وعن طريقك ينأى وهو مندحر

    The devil flees from your path, defeated

    And veers away from your road, repelled

  11. يا رحلة المجد في تاريخ أمَّتن

    بوركتَ من رحلة يسمو بها الخبر

    O journey of glory in the history of our nation

    You were blessed, an journey through which prestige soars

  12. كم نفحة من شذا الفاروق عاطرة

    سرى النسيم بها ، واستأنس البشر

    How much fragrant breeze of Al-Farooq has blown

    The breeze flowed with it, and people felt at ease
