فرعونُ ، عقلك لم يزل مخدوعا

وزمام حكمك لم يزل مقطوعا

Pharaoh, your mind has long been deluded

And the reins of your rule have long been severed

مازلت يا فرعون غراً تابعًا

وتظن نفسك قائدًا متبوعا

You are still, O Pharaoh, foolishly obedient

And you think yourself a leader to be followed

فرعون ، أنتَ الرَّمْزُ سُمُّكَ لم يزل

يجري بأفئدة الطغاةِ نقيعا

Pharaoh, you are the symbol, your venom has not ceased

Flowing in the hearts of tyrants bitterly

خضِّب يمينك بالدماءِ ، وقلْ لنا :

إني أنفِّذ أمريَ المشروعا

Stain your right hand with blood, and tell us:

I execute my fair command

قطِّعْ رؤوس المصلحين فإنهم

يبغون منك إلى الإله رجوعا

Behead the reformers, for they

Want you to return to God

واملأْ سجونك ، ثم قُلْ :إني هنا

لأحارب الإرهابَ والتقطيعا

And fill your prisons, then say: I'm here

To fight terrorism and severing

طاردْ بجندك كلَّ صاحب مبدءٍ

يأبى لقانون الضلال خضوعا

Chase with your troops every man of principle

Who refuses to submit to the law of misguidance

واركض وراءَ شبابِ "مصرَ" لأنهم

رفعوا الجباهَ وحاربوا التطبيعا

And run after the youth of "Egypt" for they

Raised their foreheads and fought normalization

هم يصعدون إلى السماءِ وأنتَ في

أوحال وهمِك ما تزال وَضيعا

They ascend to the heavens while you are still

In mires and worries remain lost

هم يلجؤون إلى الإله وأنت لا

يرضيك إلاَّ أن تسوق قطيعا

They take refuge in God while you are not pleased

Unless you can herd a flock

هم ينظرون بأَعيُنٍ مجلوَّةٍ

فيرون فعلك في العباد شنيعا

They look with eyes filled

And see your deeds among the servants abhorrent

عرفوا حقيقةَ سحرِ مَنْ جمَّعْتَهم

ورأوا عصا موسى تُخيف جموعا

They recognized the reality of the magic of those you gathered

And saw Moses' staff frighten crowds

ورأوا جباه الساحرين تعفَّرتْ

سجدوا لربّ العالمين خشوعا

And saw the foreheads of sorcerers smirched

Bowing to the Lord of the worlds humbly

ورأوك تستبقي النساء رهائناً

وتُدير قتلاً في الرجال فظيعا

And saw you holding women hostage

And killing men horribly

ورأوك في غيِّ التطاول سادراً

فتبرؤوا مما جنيتَ جميعا

And saw you intoxicated with arrogance

So they disavowed all you reaped

نظروا إليك فأنكروكَ لأنـّهم

عرفوكَ في طرق الخداع ضليعا

They looked at you and denied you because they

Knew you skilled in the ways of deceit

لكَ كلَّ يومٍ قَوْلةٌ تُلغي بها

ما قلتَ أمسِ ، وتحسن الترقيعا

You have every day an opinion with which

You cancel what you said yesterday, improving the patch

ما مصرُ يا فرعونُ إلاَّ حرَّةٌ

تأبى إلى غير العَفافِ نزوعا

Egypt, O Pharaoh, is nothing but a free woman

Who refuses any inclination to chastity

لكنّها سُلِبَتْ عباءةَ طُهرها

وخلعْتَ أنتَ حجابها لتضيعا

But she was stripped of her cloak of purity

And you removed her veil to be lost

وأكلْتَ أصناف الطعام ، ومصرُ في

ضَنْكٍ شديد لا تنال ضريعا

And you ate all kinds of food, while Egypt is in

Dire poverty, unable to find fodder

عجباً ، متى تبني لنفسكَ منزلاً

في الحقِّ ، تملأ مقلتيك دموعا؟!

Strange! When will you build for yourself a home

In truth, to fill your eyelids with tears?!

أتظنُّ هامان الذي استنجدتَه

مازال يُوقد للولاءِ شموعا؟!

Do you think Haman, whom you sought help from

Still lights candles for loyalty?!

أتظنّه مازال يبني صرحَه

حتى تُطيق إلى السماءِ طلوعا؟!

Do you think he still builds his palace

To be able to rise to the sky?!

أنسيتَ قارونَ الذي زرع الهوى

في قلبه حتى استطال فروعا؟!

Did you forget Korah who planted desire

In his heart until it branched extensively?!

خُسِفَتْ به الأرضُ التي أبدى لها

خُيَلاَءَه ، وغدا بها مخدوعا

The earth in which he showed arrogance to swallowed him

And he became in it deluded

ضاعت مفاتيح الخزائن واختفى

قارونُ ، لم يرَ في العباد شفيعا

The keys to the treasuries were lost and Korah disappeared

He did not see in the servants an intercessor

سلْ عنه أرضك حين لم تترك له

أثراً ، ولا للصوت منه سميعا

Ask your land about him when it left

No trace of him, nor any voice heard

أنسيتَ يا فرعون أنك غارقٌ

في اليَمِّ تعصر قلبكَ المفجوعا

Did you forget, O Pharaoh, that you are drowning

In the sea, wringing your anguished heart

أنسيت رَهْوَ البحر حين ولجْتَه

فرأيتَ نفسك في الخضمِّ صريعا

Did you forget the turmoil of the sea when you entered it

And saw yourself among the throngs slain

شرِّق وغرّبْ كيف شِئْتَ فإننا

لا نجهل التطبيل والتلميعا

Turn east and west however you wish for we

Do not ignore the drums and the polishing

أبشرْ فإن الفجر سوف يُريق من

كأسِ الظلامِ شرابَك المنقوعا

Rejoice, for dawn will spill from

The cup of darkness your stewed drink

ولسوف تفتح مصرُ صَفْحة عزِّها

ولسوف يغدو رأسها مرفوعا

And Egypt will open the page of its glory

And its head will be held high

فرعونُ ، لا يخدعْك وهمْك إنني

أبصرتُ طفلاً في حماكَ رضيعا

Pharaoh, do not let your illusion deceive you, I

Saw an infant in your protection nursing
