مواكب خيرٍ، موكب إثرَموكب

ومَشْرِقُ حَق لم يدنسْ بمغربِ

Caravans of goodness, a caravan after caravan

And the rise of truth undefiled by a setting

ودوحةُ حب ظلتْ كلَّ راحلٍ

من الشمس في قيظ الأسى المتلهبِ

An oasis of love remained for every traveller

From the sun in the blazing grief

مواكبُ، سارتْ من حراءٍ، مجاله

مع البدءِ مكيٌّ، وفي الختم يثربي

Caravans marched from Hira', its landscapes

Meccan at the start and Medinan at the end

تألقت البطحاءُ لما تنسمتْ

شذاها وألقتْ نظرةَ المتوثبِ

Al-Baṭḥāʾ shone when it was scented

And gazed with the look of one rising enthusiastically

مواكبُ، آياتُ الكتابِ دليلها

ومؤنسها في دربها سنةُ النبي

Caravans, the verses of the Book are its guide

And the Sunnah of the Prophet is its companion on its path

سرتْ في عروق الكون منها بشائرٌ

وهزَّتْ لها الآفاقُ أشرفَ منكبِ

In the veins of existence, good tidings emerged from it

And horizons shook for it the noblest nodding

ترقى بها في المجد كلُّ مصدقٍ

وخابتْ مساعي كلُّ غاوٍ مكذِّبِ

Every believer climbs with it the heights of glory

And the efforts of every stray denier failed

مواكب لم تحملْ سوى كل عاقلٍ

رشيدٍ خبيرٍ بالأمور مجرِّبِ

Caravans carried only every sensible,

Wise, expert in matters, seasoned

تخلفَ عنها كل مستهزئٍ بها

وقصَّر عنها سعي كل مذبذب

Every mocker of it lagged behind

And the efforts of every waverer fell short

لها في رحاب البيتِ دعوةُ ساجدٍ

ودمعةُ مشتاقٍ، وصوتُ مرحبِ

In the courtyards of the House it has the supplication of one bowing

And the tear of a yearner, and the voice of a welcomer

وفي طيبةِ الهادي البشير لها يدٌ

تمدُّ بريحانٍ إلى المتطيِّبِ

And in the fragrance of the guiding bearer of good news it has a hand

That offers basil to those purifying themselves

وتنبتُ في نجدٍ بواسقُ نخلها

ويخصبُ في صحرائها كلُّ مجدبِ

And it raises towering date palms in Najd

And every barren land flourishes in its deserts

وتسري إلى الآفاقِ منها نسائمٌ

تقرب أربابَ الصلاحِ وتجتبي

And gentle breezes blow from it to horizons

Drawing nearer the people of righteousness and choosing them

على الأمر بالمعروفِ شادتْ حصونها

حصوناً على أسوارها الغيمُ يحتبي

It erected on the command of good and prohibition of evil fortresses

Fortresses on whose walls clouds take shelter

وتلقى ذُراها الأنجم الزُّهرُ في الدُّجى

ويلقي إليها البدرُ نظرةَ معجبِ

And its seeds the stars in the darkness greet

And the moon gazes admiringly at it

وترسمُ عينُ الشمسِ منها شعاعها

فيهربُ من أضوائها كلُّ غيهبِ

And the eye of the sun sketches its rays from it

So every darkness flees from its lights

كأني أرى الأمجادَ من شرفاتها

تطلُّ، تنادينا نداءَ تحببِ:

It is as if I see glories from its balconies

Calling out, appealing to us affectionately:

خذوا من لساني اليومَ حكمةَ ناصحٍ

بغير معاني الحقِّ لم يتشربِ

Take wisdom today from the tongue of one advising

Without the meanings of truth none can be quenched

من الأمر بالمعروف والخير أشرقتْ

على الناس شمسٌ وجهها لم يغيَّبِ

From enjoining right and good a sun shone

Whose face was never obscured from people

نعم يا نداءَ المجد في أذنِ المدى

نفضتَ غبارَ الوهم عن ذهن متعبِ

Yes, O call of glory in the ear of the horizon!

You shook off the dust of fancy from a weary mind

هو الأمر بالمعروف يرشدُ لاهياً

وينقذه من طبعهِ المتقلَّبِ

It is enjoining right which guides one astray

And saves him from his fickle nature

هو الأمر بالمعروف يصرف منكر

ويكشف دعوى كل ذئب وثعلبِ

It is enjoining right which repels evil

And exposes the claim of every wolf and fox

رسالةُ كل الأنبياءِ، فما الذي

دها القومَ حتى أبرزوا وجهَ مغضبِ؟!

The message of all the prophets, so what

Made people show it a scowling face?!

وما الأمر بالمعروف إلا شعيرةٌ

لها مطلبٌ يسمو على كلِّ مطلبِ

Enjoining right is but a symbol

With a demand that rises above all demands

وقد سرَّنا في مهبط الوحي أنها

تميزنا في الواقع المتغربِ

We were delighted that in the descent of revelation it

Distinguished us in the Westernized reality

لنا دولةُ التوحيد عزَّ مقامه

بمنهجها، لا بالهوى والتمذهبِ

We have the state of monotheism, glorified is its position

By its approach, not by whims and sectarianism

حماها كتابُ الله من سوءِ منطقٍ

ومن فكرِ إلحادٍ وسوءِ تعصُّبِ

The Book of God protected it from the evil of false logic

And the thought of atheism and the evil of bigotry
