للحبِّ قلبٌ نابضٌ ولسانُ
وله حسامٌ صارمٌ وسنانُ
Love has a throbbing heart and tongue,
And it has a sharp sword and fang.
للحبِّ وردته التي في عطره
سرٌ به أوراقُها تزدانُ
Love's rose in its fragrance
Adorns its petals and leaves.
للحبِّ خيمته الكبيرة تحته
تلقى الأمانَ وتسعدُ الأوطانُ
Love's great tent beneath it
Grants safety and brings joy to homelands.
الحب بستان الحيـاة وروضهـا
بجمالـه تتـألـق الأكــوان
Love is the garden and meadow of life,
With its beauty the universes shine bright.
ما قصة الحب التي هتفـت به
شفة القصيـد وغنـت الأوزان
What is the love story that was called out
By the verse's lip and sung by rhythms?
هي قصة الوطن الكبير تعانقت
في ظلـه الواحـات والكثبـان
It's the story of the great homeland embraced
In its shade the oases and sand dunes.
وطن تجمـع بالعقيـدة شملـه
وأقيم منه على الهـدى البنيـان
A homeland united by faith,
Upon guidance its structure is built.
وطن عباءته الشمـوخ وثوبـه
ثوب الإبـاء ودرعـه الإيمـان
A homeland whose cloak is pride
And its clothes are parental and its armor faith.
وطن تبادله النجـوم ضياءه
ألقاَ ويسقـط دونـه العدوان
A homeland whose stars exchange brightness,
Shining down while aggression falls.
وطن له الربح الكبيـر بدينـه
ولحاسديه البـؤس والخسـران
A homeland whose great profit is its religion
While for its enviers is misery and loss.
وطن حبـاه الله خدمـة بيتـه
شرفا له كـل الزمـان زمـان
A homeland blessed by God with serving His House,
An honor for it all time's measure.
في راية التوحيـد منـه حقيقـة
كبرى عليها تثبـت الأركـان
In the banner of monotheism its greatest
Truth on which the pillars stand firm.
وطنٌ أتاك اليوم يرفـع رأسـه
ويمد كف الحـب يـا سلطـان
A homeland that comes to you today raising its head
And extending the hand of love, O Sultan.
بأبيـك بعـد الله قـام كيانـه
نعم الأب الباني ونعـم كيـان
By your father, after God its structure stood tall.
How great a father, how great a structure!
وافاك خادم مسجديك مرحب
وتسابق الإخـوان والأعـوان
Your servant who serves your mosques has come to greet you
And the brothers and aides hasten along.
وبك احتفى رجل المواقف نايف
وشعـاره التقديـر والعرفـان
With you the man ofresolve Nayef celebrates,
And his motto is appreciation and gratitude.
حيـاك منـه وفــاؤه وولاؤه
وعطـاؤه الميمـون والإتقـان
From him greetings of loyalty, devotion,
Giving, auspice, and perfection.
لله موكبـك الكريـم يـزفـه
بإخائـه ووفـائـه سلـمـان
To God belongs your noble procession
Led by his brotherhood and loyalty, Suleiman.
ماجئت أنت وإنما جاء الرضـى
لما أتيـت وغابـت الأحـزان
You did not come, but pleasure arrived
With your arrival and sorrows departed.
فرحت بمقدمك الكراسي التـي
في كـل جامعـة لهـا عنـوان
The chairs rejoiced at your arrival,
Chairs in every university with prestige.
ترعى العلوم بها وتلـك رعايـة
فيها على إحسانـك البرهـان
They oversee sciences, and that oversight
Is proof of your benevolence.
واستبشرت موسوعـة عربيـة
لبهائها فـي المكتبـات مكـان
An Arabic encyclopedia rejoiced
For its splendor a place in libraries.
واستبشرت لغة العروبة لم تـزل
بين اللغات بما بذلـت تصـان
The Arabic language never ceased
To be protected among languages by your efforts.
خذها إليك مع المـودة دعـوة
أن يستقـر بعدلـه المـيـزان
Take along with affection an invitation
That justice set its scales aright.
عد حيث كنت ولي عهدٍ قلبـه
مستبشر يسمو بـه اطمئنـان
Return where you were Crown Prince, your heart
Eager, with it reassurance ascends.
عد حيث كنت فإنهـا لأمانـة
كبرى لها عند المهيمـن شـان
Return where you were, for it is a great trust
With a lofty position for the Guardian.
والعصر بحـر هائـج متلاطـم
تقتات فيه بمن هـوى الحيتـان
The era is a turbulent, surging sea
In which monsters prey on whom they covet.
والمركب الميمون يعبـر سالم
لمـا يحكـم عقلـه الـربـان
The auspicious ship crosses safely
When its reason is ruled by its captain.
عد حيث كنت مع المليك مبارك
لكما من الدين الحنيـف بيـان
Return where you were with the blessed King
For you both have elucidation from the tolerant religion.
فجميع ما في الأرض يصغر شأنه
لمـا يجـود بنصـره الرحمـن
For all on earth is lesser in status
To what the Merciful grants victory.
ما أجمـل الدنيـا وأحلاهـا إذ
.صفت الرؤى وتكاتف الإخوان
How beautiful and sweet is the world when
Visions unite and brothers cooperate!
