إذا كان هذا مذاقُ الوجودْ

فكيف يكون نعيمُ الخلودْ ؟!

If this is the taste of existence,

Then how must the bliss of eternity be?!

يكاد فؤادي المَشوقُ ينادي :

( أطِلْ يا إمامُ ، أطِلْ في السجودْ )

My longing heart calls out:

"Delay, O Imam, delay in prostration"

عسى في سجودي تُفكّ قيودي

فقد حان تَوْبي وفكّ القيودْ

Perhaps in my prostration my shackles will be undone

For my repentance has come and the shackles removed

تُرى هل أطيرُ و جُنحي كسير ؟!

فأسمو إلى سالفات العهودْ

I wonder, will I fly though my wings are broken?!

And soar to past covenants

وقالوا : ( تمنَّ ، وزِدْ في الأماني )

فقلت : ( أعودُ لربّي .. أعودْ )

And they said: "Wish, and add to your wishes"

But I said: "To my Lord I shall return, I shall return"
