She witnessed all the glories
I saw from Al-Mukhtar’s age the legacy they bore,
Of Al-Mukhtar's age and progeny
From him and his heirs, whose rocket is a stone.
Their rockets upon the enemies
Bearing upon their shoulders a burning flame,
Like burning stones cast in ferocity
To consume invaders and those who revel in tyranny.
Bearing on their shoulders flames
I saw the heroes of Hittin riding the shooting stars,
That destroy the invaders and those who rebelled
Where the child of the stone stands as a vigilant lion.
I saw the heroes of Hutayn mounted
At Ain Jalut, the revolutionaries held their ground,
Their spears, a child to the rocks runs for cover
There, the armored knights drove back the army of wrong.
In the eyes of Goliath for the revolutionaries stand firm
In other battles, the lion cubs sprang forth,
In it the forces, the tyranny they repelled
Seeking victory from the Unseen, never failing in their quest.
Their heroes and steadfast victory unite them
I saw among them rebellious youth, ready to sacrifice,
Thousands to me loyally triumphant
Engaged in a struggle that makes the generations proud.
Or like eagles swooped down on their prey
Among the battalions of Arab hosts are brigades,
Destroying tyranny leaving nothing behind
Armored in steel, yet bearing deep desire in their souls.
They have positions they know
As if they are lions of the thicket within their sanctuaries,
When their fire blazes no shame deters them
Like Birds of Ababil, they have encircled the foe.
Sacrificing their souls to defend their homelands
Heroes united by the steadfast promise of triumph,
Whether death comes from a usurper or a gang they ambushed
They represent thousands, with victory in their grasp.
Their faces shine like the horizon at dawn
Or like eagles swooping down from the heights,
In them the pride for those who in my nation bowed
Destroying tyranny, leaving no trace behind.
Was not Omar Al-Mukhtar their mentor
They hold positions of valor for which they are renowned,
With the will even if the others were deluded?
When their fire roars, no weakness touches them.
You saw them in Jericho then Ghassan overcame them
They ransom their homelands with souls set ablaze,
They refuse to be defeated for truth is victorious
Bringing death to the usurper and the treacherous band.
And in Thoriyya Al-Quds cubs accustomed
Their faces shine like a lamp upon the horizon,
Neither victory nor triumph will disappoint them
Bearing pride for all in my nation who seek honor.
Thoriyya rock supported them yesterday
Was not Omar al-Mukhtar their guiding banner,
For their souls to redeem they had vowed
With a will of iron, though calamities closed in?
Warriors experienced in war
I saw them in Jericho, and when the invasion struck,
The bullets and rockets suicidal they confronted
Refusing to be subdued, for the Truth shall prevail.
Trained in knowledge and insight
On the soil of Jerusalem stand cubs, inured to the fight,
That from a wise sheikh vision they drew
Sworn never to forsake the path of victory.
He plans the great strike targeting
The very rocks of the earth rose yesterday to aid them,
Fiery arrows upon the enemy unleashed
For they have vowed their souls to the sacred ransom.
Maneuvering for battle or attack
Warriors possessing the wisdom of war’s trial,
To avenge the enemies with faith they blasphemed
Before whom swords bow, and the rocket finds its mark.
Storms of ferocious war swirled
Trained with knowledge and sharp insight,
To avenge, their flare never calmed
Drawing valor from a Sheikh possessed of true vision.
The brigades of Al-Quds from Haifa aiding
Planning the great strike, aiming it with care,
Tulkarm, they are the grandchildren triumphing
A smokeless flame of fire raging against the foe.
How many enemies with what power he possessed
Maneuvering for battle or launching the assault,
And planes to the valleys with rocks he cast
Hunting down the aggressors who denied the Right.
As for tomorrow, Al-Mukhtar their role model
The hurricanes of war have begun to roar,
And the Arabs revolting, no shame in him rests?
Seething with vengeance, its sparks unquenched.
Was he not resisting the Italians confidently
The Jerusalem Battalions, from Haifa to Nazareth,
For twenty years pearls on his chest shone?
To Tulkarm—these descendants shall prevail.
How many feats the hero Al-Mukhtar miraculous
How many mighty enemies have they destroyed?
With which eras of history flourished?
Even their warplanes were brought low by the stone.
How many hands of God bolstered the resolute
Has not Omar al-Mukhtar become their guide?
Against the invaders and heroes of sacrifice they were victorious
The Arab rebel whom weakness could never taint?
I say O nation its chosen
Did he not resist the Italian host with faith,
Led the regiments into the thickets submerged
For twenty years that shone like pearls upon a string?
O our sheikh O father of the revolutionaries in a homeland
What miracles the hero Al-Mukhtar brought forth,
In it the prophecies to guidance a trace
Making the eras of history bloom with pride!
Were you not the leader of the rebels over
How Allah aided the resolve of the brave,
The tyranny of the oppressors and for animosity they vowed?
Against the invaders, till the heroes of ransom won!
I wish we were the residents of caves and their crags
I call out: O Nation whose Chosen One was wise,
Scattered on a verdant mountain they sprawled
Who led armies through the thickets deep and wild.
O our Sheikh, O father of rebels in a land,
Where prophecies have left their guiding trace.
Were you not a commander for those who rose,
Against the tyrants’ oppression and their threats?
Would that we dwelt in the thickets, amidst the want,
Like a great tree spreading upon the Green Mountain.
