دمع يسيل على خدود الأنجم
O my Aqsa Mosque, I kiss you
O my Al-Aqsa Mosque, your sorrow lies upon my lips,
Tears run down the cheeks of the stars
A tear cascading down the cheeks of the stars.
كلم تراودني معاني لفظه
في جانبي ثوى وإن لم أعلم
Words come to me but their meanings elude me
Words whose hidden meanings haunt my spirit,
Though yearning dwells within me, unbeknownst
Dwelling deep within me, though I knew it not.
شارون دنس منك قدس طهارة
من حائط الإسراء لطخ بالدم
Sharon defiled your sacred purity
Sharon has defiled your sacred purity,
Staining the wall of Ascent with blood
Staining the Wall of Isra with spilled blood.
باراك كان وراءه بجريمه
من مجرمي حرب بغدر أجرم
Behind him in his crime
Barak stood behind him in this crime,
Were war criminals of vilest treachery
A war criminal practicing his art of treachery.
فعلا جريمة غدر ساحة مسجد
هو قلعة الإسراء من برج سمي
Truly they committed a treacherous crime in the mosque courtyard
They enacted a treacherous crime in the Mosque's courtyard,
It is the citadel of Ascent from its lofty tower
The citadel of the Night Journey, a tower ascending high.
من صخرة القدس ارتقى جبريلها
نحو السماوات العلى بمكرم
From Jerusalem's rock his Gabriel ascended
From the Rock of Jerusalem, Gabriel rose,
To the highest heavens in glory
Toward the highest heavens with the Honored One.
فتحت ذراعيها السماء دروبها
لمحمد شوقا .. بقدر أعظم
Opening its arms, the sky paved its roads
The heavens opened their arms and their paths,
For Muhammad in greatest longing
In longing for Muhammad, by a supreme decree.
وبساحة الأقصى .. أتى بجريمة
نكراء أشبه بالظلام الأقتم
And in the Aqsa courtyards...came this despicable crime
Yet in Al-Aqsa's square, he brought a crime,
Resembling the darkest gloom
A heinous act, akin to the darkest gloom.
من وجه باراك وشارون معا
متواطئين .. على الجريمة بالدم
The faces of Barak and Sharon together
From the faces of Barak and Sharon combined,
Partners in crime, in bloodshed
Conspiring together in a crime writ in blood.
بالقتل غدرا باقتحام فنائه
في غضبة من جيش غدرهما رمي
Murdering treacherously by storming its courtyard
Murder through treachery, storming its sanctuary,
In raging wrath of their betraying army's assault
Amidst the fury fired by their treacherous army.
عبث الجنود السافكون دم الفدى
بيدي دعيي فتنة مجرم
The soldiers spilling sacred blood in vain
Soldiers, who spill the blood of sacrifice, wreaked havoc,
Sowing dissension, criminals indeed!
At the hands of two criminal mongers of strife.
فعلا الذي لم يفعلن بعتيقه
جيش لأبرهة .. بفيل يحتمي
They did what even the army of Abraha did not
They did what was not even done to the Ancient House,
Taking refuge behind his elephant
By Abraha's army, shielding itself with an elephant.
ألقى به الله القدير وجنده
من فوق أفيال .. كعصف ترتمي
God Almighty and His troops hurled down upon them
God the Almighty cast him and his host down,
Stones like swirling chaff
From atop their elephants, thrown like scattered chaff.
بحجار طير من سماها حلقت
بالموت للباغي .. الأثيم الأشرم
Birds pelted them from the sky
By stones from birds that soared in the sky,
Bringing death to the transgressing villain
Dealing death to the sinful, scarred aggressor.
وكعصف مأكول غدوا تحت الحصى
صرعى وجرحى من طبيخ جهنم
And like eaten chaff they lay beneath the gravel
Like chewed straw, they became beneath the pebbles,
Slain and wounded by Hell's scalding torment
Slain and wounded by the cooking fires of Hell.
وحمى الإله القدس من شارونه
بلظى الحجارة من صغار سوم
And God protected Jerusalem from Sharon
Thus God protected Jerusalem from its Sharon,
With searing stones thrown by youths
With the burning stones of the young defenders.
جيش الحجارة غالب جيش اللظى
لا ريب في هذا ولا عجب اغتمي
The army of stones vanquished the army of torment
The army of stones has vanquished the army of fire,
No doubt in this, no wonder I sorrow!
There is no doubt in this, nor any wonder to hide.
