Where is the fragrance and blooming dreams
Is this how your love fades, my brown skinned love
Do our flowers wither this way
Among them musk and amber
Why do sweet lips
Bear wine for me but do not intoxicate
Our poems used to adorn this world
And the night shone from our longing
How can love pass like the lifetime of dew
And in my country its meadow still green
I loved you in a free song
Where the flute and lute flutter
In the dawn's shadow on the curve
The vineyard and threshing floor yearn for it
On the laughing river among the hills
The rivers envy it for love
In the melody of the nightingale singing
To the pine of the hillside never leaving
In the procession of victory and on a flag
Flying over the peaks of our history
And in my nation's hopes blooming
In it pride and dignity rise high
I loved you in my people and my homeland
For you are the sweetest and the greenest
