1. لبيك وازدحمت على الأبواب

    صبوات أعيادٍ وعرس تصابي

    I am here, and crowds have gathered at the doors

    Pouring in for holidays and a wedding celebration

  2. لبيك يا بن العرب أبدع دربنا

    فتن الجمال المسكر الخلاب

    I am here, O son of Arabia, pave our path

    With intoxicating beauty and charm

  3. فتبرجت فيه المباهج مثلما

    تتبرج الغادات للعزاب

    Joy has emerged in it, just as

    Maidens emerge adorned for bachelors

  4. واخضرت الأشواق فيه والمنى

    كالزهر حول الجدول المنساب

    And longing has flourished in it, and wishes

    Like flowers around a flowing stream

  5. ومضى به زحف العروبة والدنى

    ترنو، وتهتف عاد فجر شبابي

    And in it marched Arabism and life

    Yearning and shouting: my youth has returned

  6. إنا زرعناه منىً وجماجماً

    فنما وأخصب أجود الإخصاب

    We planted it with wishes and skulls

    So it grew and fertilized the best fertilization

  7. ويحدق التاريخ فيه كأنه

    يتلو البطولة من سطور كتاب

    And history stares at it as if

    Reciting heroism from the lines of a book

  8. عاد التقاء العرب فاهتف يا أخي

    للفجر، وارقص حول شدو ربابي

    The meeting of Arabs has returned so shout my brother

    For the dawn, and dance around the rhythm of my lute

  9. واشرب كؤوسك واسقني نخب اللقا

    واسكب بقايا الدن في أكوابي

    And drink your cups and let me taste the cream of the meeting

    And pour the dregs of baseness in my cups

  10. هذي الهتافات السكارى والمنى

    حولي تناديني إلى الأنخاب

    These are the intoxicated shouts and wishes

    Around me, calling me to the valleys

  11. خلفي وقدامي هتاف مواكبٍ

    وهوىً يزغرد في شفاه كعاب

    Behind and before me, shouts of processions

    And a passion that trills in the mouths of valleys

  12. والزهر يهمس في الرياض كأنه

    أشعار حبٍ في أرق عتاب

    And the flowers whisper in the gardens as if

    They are poems of love in gentle rebuke

  13. والجو من حولي يرنحه الصدى

    فيهيم كالمسحورة المطراب

    And the air around me, echo intoxicates it

    Wandering like one enchanted and confused

  14. والريح ألحان تهازج سيرنا

    والشهب أكواب من الأطياب

    And the wind, melodies that accompany our march

    And the meteors, cups of perfume

  15. إنا توحدنا هوىً ومصائراً

    وتلاقت الأحباب بالأحباب

    We have united in passion and destiny

    And loved ones have met loved ones

  16. أترى ديار العرب كيف تضافرت

    فكأن “صنعا” في “دمشق” روابي

    Do you see the lands of Arabs how they collaborated

    As if Sana'a were in Damascus, my mount

  17. وكأن “مصر” و”سوريا” في “ماربٍ”

    علم وفي “صنعا” أعز قباب

    And as if Egypt and Syria were in Marib

    A banner, and in Sana'a the dearest domes

  18. لاقى الشقيق شقيقه، فاسألهما

    كيف التلاقي بعد طول غياب؟

    A brother met his brother, so ask them

    How was the meeting after long absence?

  19. اليوم ألقى في “دمشق” بني أبي

    وأبث أهلي في الكنانة ما بي

    Today I met in Damascus the sons of Abu

    And told my family in the alcoves what ails me

  20. وأبث أجدادي بني غسان في

    ربوات “جلق” محنتي وعذابي

    And told my ancestors, the tribe of Ghassan in the

    Plateaus of Jilq, my torment and agony

  21. وأهيم والأنسام تنشر ذكرهم

    حولي فتنضح بالعطور ثيابي

    And I roam while the breezes spread their mention

    Around me, scenting my clothes with perfume

  22. وأهز في ترب “المعرة” شاعراً

    مثلي: توحد خطبه ومصابي

    And I shake in the soil of al-Ma'arra a poet like me:

    United are his anxieties and my afflictions

  23. وأعود أسأل “جلقاً” عن عهدها

    “بأميةٍ” وبفتحها الغلاب

    And I return to ask Jilq about her era with

    Umayyad and its opening conquest

  24. صورٌ من الماضي تهامس خاطري

    كتهامس العشاق بالأهداب

    Scenes from the past whisper to my conscience

    Like the whispers of lovers in the tents

  25. دعني أغرد فالعروبة روضتي

    ورحاب موطنها الكبير رحابي

    Let me sing, for Arabism is my meadow

    And the vast expanse of its home is my expanse

  26. “فدمشق” بستاني “ومصر” جداولي

    وشعاب “مكة” مسرحي وشعابي

    Damascus is my orchard, Egypt my streams

    And the cliffs of Mecca my theater and my cliffs

  27. وسماء “لبنانٍ” سماي وموردي

    “بردى” ودجلة والفرات شرابي

    And Lebanon's sky is my sky and spring

    Euphrates, Tigris and the Euphrates are my drink

  28. وديار عمانٍ” دياري.. أهلها

    أهلي وأصحاب العراق صحابي

    And the lands of Oman are my lands..its people

    Are my people, and Iraqis are my companions

  29. بل إخوتي ودم “الرشيد” يفور في

    أعصابهم ويضج في أعصابي

    But my brothers, Al-Rashid's blood boils in

    Their nerves and rages in my nerves

  30. شعب العراق وإن أطال سكوتهُ

    فسكوته الإنذار للإرهاب

    Iraq’s people, though long their silence

    Their silence warns of terrorism

  31. سل عنه سل عبدالإله وفيصلاً

    يبلغك صرعهما أتم جواب

    Ask of them, ask Abdallah and Faisal

    Their defeat will give you the perfect answer

  32. لن يخفض الهامات للطاغي ولم

    يخضع رؤوس القوم للأذناب

    They will not bow their pride to the tyrant nor

    Bow the heads of the people to the tails

  33. وطن العروبة موطني أعياده

    عيدي، وشكوى إخوتي أوصابي

    The homeland of Arabism is my homeland, its holidays

    Are my holidays, and my brothers' complaints are my wounds

  34. فاترك جناحي حيث يهوى تحتضن

    جو العروبة جيئتي وذهابي

    So leave my wing where the air of Arabism flies

    I came and go, embracing its atmosphere

  35. يا ابن العروبة شد في كفي يداً

    ننفض غبار الذل والأتعاب

    O son of Arabism, grasp my hand

    We shake off the dust of humiliation and fatigue

  36. فهنا هنا اليمن الخصيب مقابرٌ

    ودمٌ مباحٌ واحتشاد ذئاب

    And spilled blood, and gathering of wolves

    Remind it of the past, perhaps it will build

  37. ذكره بالماضي عسى يبني على

    أضوائه مجداً أعز جناب

    On its lights a pride most precious

    Remind it of history, and remember it is

  38. ذكره بالتاريخ واذكر أنه

    شعب الحضارة مشرق الأحساب

    The people of civilization, the bright minded

    It made civilization while realms were sleeping

  39. صنع الحضارة والعوالم نومٌ

    والدهر طفل في مهود تراب

    And time a babe in the cradle of dust

    It walked the peaks of eras to the heights

  40. ومشى على قممم الدهور إلى العلا

    وبنى الصروح على ربى الأحقاب

    And built palaces over the epochs’ dunes

    And guided the way to civilization and religion

  41. وهدى السبيل إلى الحضارة والدنا

    في التيه لم يحلم بلمح شهاب

    Lost in ruin, never glimpsing a meteor

    So when will it wake to the dawn while its day

  42. فمتى يفيق على الشروق ويومه

    يبدو ويخفى كالشعاع الخابي

    Dawns and disappears like a fleeting ray

    O people who tore apart every tyrant and seized

  43. يا شعب مزق كل طاغٍ وانتزع

    عن سارقيك مهابة الأرباب

    From your thieves the awe of lords

    And beware of men like beasts cloaked

  44. وأحذر رجالاً كالوحوش كسوتهم

    خلعاً من “الأجواخ” والألقاب

    In gowns from monasteries and titles

    They have choked the countries, and their tyranny and arrogance

  45. خنقوا البلاد وجورهم وعتوهم

    كل الصواب وفصل كل خطاب

    Killed all truth and ended all discourse

    They did not account for the people, but the people have

  46. لم يحسبوا للشعب لكن عنده

    للعابثين به أشد حساب

    For those who toy with them the harshest reckoning

    The silence of nations over tyrants and their violence

  47. صمت الشعوب على الطغاة وعنفهم

    صمت الصواعق في بطون سحاب

    Is the silence of thunder within clouds

    So beware of men like beasts whose worries

  48. فاحذر رجالاً كالوحوش همومهم

    سلب الحمى والفخر بالأسلاب

    Are pillaging sanctuary and boasting of loot

    They saw your swift progress so raced

  49. شهدوا تقدمك السريع فأسرعوا

    يتراجعون به على الأعقاب

    To push it back on its heels

    They have not done right, nor wrong, but

  50. لم يحسنوا صدقاً ولا كذباً سوى

    حيل الغبي وخدعة المتغابي

    The tricks of the fool and guile of the sly

    Say to the Imam: even if your sword is drawn

  51. قل للإمام: وإن تحفز سيفه

    أعوانك الأخيار شر ذئاب

    Your good supporters are the evil of wolves

    They prostrate to you, but to us

  52. يومون عندك بالسجود وعندنا

    يومون بالأظفار والأنياب

    They bare fangs and claws

    They are emperors on their seats but

  53. هم في كراسيهم قياصرةٌ وهم

    عند الأمير عجائز المحراب

    Elders of the shrine to the Prince

    They flatter and reach the heights

  54. يتملقون ويبلغون إلى العلا

    بخداعهم وبأخبث الأسباب

    Through their deceit and most wicked means

    With every sweet hypocrisy, it is as if

  55. من كل معسول النفاق كأنه

    حسناً تتاجر في الهوى وترابي

    Goodness itself trades in passion and dust

    And tomorrow they will burn in the blaze of eras

  56. وغداً سيحرقون في وهج السنى

    وكأنهم كانوا خداع سراب

    As if they were a mirage’s deception

    And Sana’a the new will wake to guidance

  57. وتفيق “صنعاء” الجديد على الهدى

    والوحدة الكبرى على الأبواب

    And grand unity is at the doors
