In embellished al-Basīṭ meter, its reciter said:
Its rhyme-letter is yāʾ—how lovely its rhymes!
Toward Rabat, my very breaths stand sentry;
there, my heart’s remembrances are among her songs.
For Moroccans are our own people and our family—
who can deny the sun, or hide it at noon?
A people upon whose character virtues followed one another,
drawn from cultures, with the Qur’an as their guide.

I came like a falcon from Mount Shamsan, from Aden,
at once calling out for reunion and its caravan-chanter.
،
From Arabia Felix, from Sana’a, comes my plane;
from al-Hudaydah; yearning, I commune with her.

From Ibb, from Hadramawt—the honey comes from Sheba,
from her two gardens, which God protects.
We share in love and join the beloved in their call;
who can bring himself to shun brotherhood?
And the Moroccan leaders who migrated
from among us—they are the voice of her builder and her bard.
All the mirrors here have come offering congratulations,
loving Rabat for all that is in her and everyone within her.
