He braved terror and danger
When he visited me at dawn.
His face is radiant, just as
Light shines in the moon.
The night stood bewildered,
Asking the star and the trees
About a beloved who is like
Morning’s smile when he appears.
His fragrance perfumed the soil,
And the fragrant herbs and the blossoms.
، ،
He visited me; I visited him; he came
Just as the rain falls.
O love-stricken beloved,
Who has captured hearing and sight,
My lifeblood is yours, if you wish,
And my heart and thoughts are yours.
You are my fire and my paradise;
Nighttime talk grew sweet in your embrace.
O crowned angel,
You are not human like other people.
Pay no heed, and do not fear
A reproacher who spreads the news.
The love story between us
Is neither female nor male.
