I came to (Bahrain) seeking its love
I send to it my longing and my odes
For the kingdom of Bahrain, its people and state
I carried my Arabian fragrance on the Yemeni breeze
The home of (Abu Al-Bahr) whose poetry was majestic
(Abu Ja'far Al-Khati) my rhymes composer
(Ali Bin Al-Muqarrab) appears towering
With a crown atop the head of Manama lofty
And I was no bootlicker though I was
for (Abdulaziz Al-Babtain) singing his praise
He gathers the connoisseurs of eloquence whenever
A narrator of poetry comes into view
And he brings forth from beneath the soil masterpieces
Thus becoming the patron of creativity and verse
And compiled for Arabic poetry a lexicon
So neither West nor Australia were kept away
Blessed be the man and blessed the poet
Would that he have a second in serving poetry
