The night has calmed and stars have darkened
A star falls, and another rises high
Whenever a gathering around me grows darker
She comes like the full moon in the garden, red
Swaying between the arms of the darkness
Bearing the night, with blush upon her cheeks
The color of jasmine has slept in her cheeks
Filling the hall with fragrance and scent
And weary candles flicker out
Her steps speak of faith and blasphemy
She captivates the heart, and subdues anguish
And whispers to me: good evening, my secret
You have not drunk or eaten, so you
Are nothing but narcissistic in nature, openly!
I said: Rebuke me more, mock
All my feelings, I ask you no excuse
You are the pasture of my hunger, you are she
Who amazed me, today I cannot bear patience
She said: Drink! I said: I do not drink wine
Rather I sip, O sweetness of the lips
